This position
is responsible for all of the Chemicals Business Unit which includes 2
Phenol Plants; 4 Polymers; R&T; Chem HQ.
Management of
Process Safety, Risk Assessments, Fire Protection Engineering, and development
of Risk Management solutions to address insurance related issues/concerns.
Manage and coach a staff of five PSM professionals. Develop Business Unit
risk management philosophy and corporate standards by providing leadership
for various matrix organizations to ensure business unit risks are effectively
managed. Directs the development of strategies/tactical solutions addressing
risk and insurance related issues. Provides project reviews, develops recommendations,
addresses emerging issues, and resolves issues where technical differences
may arise. Responsible for providing guidance in industry Best Practices,
and prioritization of complex risk based issues to ensure company priorities
are addressed.
Provides leadership
in developing Process Safety Management (PSM) tools and to the PSM Task
Team to ensure Best Practices are developed and implemented. Works with
PSM Community and meets with senior management to gain alignment on company
priorities and risk management options.
Serves as Business
Unit expert in the development of practices including; Layers of Protection
Analysis (LOPA), RP-752 Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, Qualatative
Risk Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, establishing SIL Levels.
BS Technical degree.
10 years plant experience with strong technical, process operation and
problem solving skills; effective oral, written and presentation skills;
proven ability to manage and direct multiple complex projects, programs
and systems; ability to manage a team of Engineers and develop a team atmosphere
and approach; strong computer skills including predictive modeling, PHA
software and tracking software; working knowledge of Process Safety and
Fire Protection Engineering regulations; experienced in conducting HAZOPS,
risk assessments, development of standards, and management (both direct
and through use of matrix organizations).
Environmental
Manager, Houston, TX to 110K
Provides expertise
and recommendations to management regarding current and developing environmental
issues which impact refinery operations. Implements, coordinates, and monitors
the overall effectiveness of these programs from both a company standpoint
and for government requirements. May act as a contact for local state and
federal agencies, attorneys, consultants, trade organizations and general
public on environmental issues. Obtains favorable environmental permits
for modification of existing and newly constructed facilities. Ensures
ongoing refinery compliance with current and future environmental regulations.
Designs effective environmental compliance programs that provide maximum
flexibility for refinery operations. May serve as refinery liaison during
state and federal environmental inspections at the refinery. Participates
in engineering studies related to scope development and conceptual design
for pollution abatement systems in the refinery.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
in Chemical or Environmental engineering required. Minimum of 10 years
environmental experience from the Refinery or Petrochemical industry required.
Supervisory experience required. Work specifically in the environmental
field with direct experience with agencies and permitting is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations is required. Instruction
on specific environmental programs, solutions to specific problems, and
regulatory updates are available through formal seminars, technical society
seminars or manufacturer's instructions.
